Global warming poses particular challenges for urban areas due to the greater intensity of rainfall and issues of stormwater runoff, and the heat island effect generated by the reflection of the sun off hard surfaces, such as buildings and road pavements; for example, in Australian cities (i.e., Sydney), roads account for approximately 25% of all urban land use.

3D modelling of precincts and cities has significantly advanced in the last decades, as we move towards the concept of the Digital Twin. Many 3D city models have been created but a large portion of them neglect representing terrain and buildings accurately. Very often the surface is either considered planar or is not represented.

WGV is a 2.2ha residential infill development in White Gum Valley delivered by the Western Australian State Government Developer, LandCorp. Consisting of four multi-residential sites, one group housing site and 23 detached residential sites, WGV will eventually accommodate up to 100 dwellings and around 250 people.
