The CRCLCL-supported ClimateClever Initiative is a low carbon, educational program underpinned by an innovative, data-driven App. The success of its two-year pilot program in Western Australia, involving 8,729 students across 15 schools, resulted in 83 tonnes of carbon emissions being saved along with significant amounts of energy and water. The successful pilot resulted in a national rollout of the program at the beginning of 2018.

This project, RP3039, sought to adapt the existing Liveability Real Estate Framework to develop an online “real estate knowledge” handbook for ‘moderators’ of the website developed in CRCLCL project RP3029e1 and an online Liveability Real Estate Specialist training course suitable for TAFE Sydney Students studying for qualifications in property services (real estate).
Professionals and tradespeople do not promote low carbon building options unless they have proven solutions and confidence to implement them. Consequently, without effective education and training they continue to ‘lock in’ high carbon options. Studies of education and training in sustainable and low-carbon building practices indicate collaborative learning approaches are required to address this issue.
